A programme of Value Education for all students forms an essential element of the curriculum. Students are prepared for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Examination, which is held at the end of Class X.
Emphasis is on acquiring basic skills and providing experiences and activities
that help the child respond to the wonderful world in which he/she lives.
Progress is assessed through the teacher’s evaluation of regular work.
Promotion is normally based on performance. A child will only be detained if it
is genuinely felt that repeating the class will benefit him/her.
Student progress is assessed through routine work, assignments, and tests.
Promotion to the next class depends on performance across all these assessments.
Students are trained for the ICSE Board standards with focus on depth,
discipline, values, and academic confidence.
The school conducts regular class tests and two Terminal Examinations to ensure that students remain up to date in their studies. Records of these tests and examinations are used to finalise promotion.
If a student misses any class test or examination, the average marks will be taken into consideration. No special re-test or separate provision shall be made for those absent, even if there is a valid reason.
The Final Examination at the end of the academic session will cover the entire year’s syllabus.
Education at Holy Family School goes beyond textbooks. Provision is made for games, physical activities, picnics, cultural programmes, and social exposure. Participation in these activities is considered compulsory as part of holistic education.
Students are also encouraged and trained to participate in various locally held competitions to build confidence, discipline, and healthy expression.
Promotion is discussed and decided in the Teachers’ Meeting. The decision of the staff regarding promotion is final and cannot be reconsidered.
Parents / Guardians are expected to attend the Parent–Teacher Meetings conducted from time to time. School and home must work together for the child’s growth.
